This is a great way for you and your family to enjoy some of the best wilderness scenery, and fishing Colorado has to offer. Enjoy your time on a photography expedition or just kick back and relax in the high country. Our summer camp is quite worry-free as it comes complete with a cook and guides so you can enjoy your vacation with family and friends without any planning or camp "duties". There are no motorized vehicles permitted in the National Park past our pack station. The Colorado Flattops Wilderness area is only a one-hour horseback ride away on well maintained trails where spectacular scenery awaits you!

Day Rides Our summer season begins approximately June 15, depending on the season's snow cover. Horseback rides from our Sweetwater Creek pack station are full day rides only, guided by a minimum of one wrangler. The full-day rides include packed lunches and fishing is optional.

Summer Pack Trips During the summer season, we set up a full-service camp in the heart of the Flattops Wilderness near Trappers Peak. This camp has a large cook tent and at least two sleeping tents. Typically, pack trips are a minimum of 3 days and 2 nights. Longer trips (up to a week in duration) are available upon request. These trips include a cook and all the food required for 3 meals a day.

Wranglers in camp are responsible for caring for the livestock and guiding you to your choice of several high mountain lakes or streams for great fishing. Day rides from the camp are also available for pleasure riding and scenic photography tours of the spectacular vistas in the Flattops.

The camp is high in the Flattops Wilderness area between Trapper and Shingle Peaks. Summer weather is very enjoyable with long days of sunshine, occasional afternoon showers, and cool evenings. Big game is plentiful for viewing.
