In business for more than 30 years, Colorado High Guide Services is located in the Flattops Wilderness Area on Sweetwater Creek, near Eagle and Gypsum, Colorado. Formerly owned by Cade and Mona Benson, who retired from the outfitting business but still frequent camp, CHGS was sold to John Epperson, Randal "Fred" Friedrichsen and Steve Vaughn in 2003. |
Steve Vaughn, our outfitter, worked with Cade Benson at Colorado High Guide Servies for the last 10 years. His experience is an invaluable asset in his hands-on management role. Steve is a Colorado native and has worked on horse and cattle ranches all his life.
John Epperson was born and raised in Evergreen, Colorado and has always enjoyed the outdoors. He has experience outfitting in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. John nows lives in Parker Colorado and has two sons.
Fred was born and raised in Iowa and ventured to Wyoming and then migrated to Colorado where he enjoys hunting and fishing. Fred lives in Parker with his wife Linda and has a daughter Stacey Bussard, who also lives in the Parker area. Both Linda and Stacey play key behind-the-scenes roles for CHGS. Fred and John own and manage Timberland Drywall, Inc. in Parker Colorado, a successful high-quality drywall company.
Colorado High Guide Services continues to operate in the same professional manner as it has for the past 30 years. We know you will find your high-country experience rewarding, successful, and memorable, and we look forward to providing you many more years of great customer service.
