2 hour Wilderness Rides.... 1/2 day and full day scenic horseback rides with lunch....1/2 and full day fishing rides with lunch - stream, lakes and beaver ponds with spectacular brook trout and cutthroats.
Overnight to multi-day pack trips.... to our base camp below the scenic Buck Rail Ridge in the shadow of beautiful Mt. Sopris.


        We specialize in good horses for all riding levels from beginners to advanced with personalized service. We cater to family groups as well as large corporate parties. Private rides are available upon request. Capitol Peak Outfitters Inc. offers a full range of horseback adventures from two-hour rides to all expense wilderness pack trips, to fully guided hunting and fishing expeditions. We are located near the resort towns of Aspen and Snowmass Colorado. Our trips center in the remote Maroon Bells/Snowmass wilderness areas, a setting unsurpassed with 14,000 foot peaks, mountain lakes, wildflowers, and breathtaking panoramas.


Two Hour Rides A great trip for families, friends, and groups looking for a leisurely ride. Catch a glimpse of Mt. Sopris and the breathtaking Capital Valley with exceptional photo opportunities along the way. A great way to experience Colorado's wilderness and leave time for your other activities.



Half and Full Day Wilderness Rides

These fun filled rides are for families and groups looking for a more backcountry experience, with tremendous scenery and wildlife viewing. Any of our rides can be complimented with fishing. Half days are generally 4 hours with a leisurely lunch stop along the way. Full days generally head to a high country lake or a remote wilderness destination. Full day rides usually last about 6 1/2 hours with a lunch stop along the way. Lunch, soft drink, and bottled water are provided on all 1/2 and full day rides. We offer a wide variety of locations to choose from (see our summer price schedule for all the options).
Summer Pack Trips
Come join us in our remote wilderness summer camp where you can spend one to seven nights in these fully equipped and comfortable facilities. Cozy wall tents and hearty meals cooked over an open fire await you, fishing and wildlife are abundant and the horseback riding is spectacular. Great for groups and families with - no kids younger than seven.

Progressive Pack Trips

These trips are for the real adventuresome. Plan at least three days to travel from camp to camp. Your gear is moved daily by packhorses as you tour some of the most spectacular high country Colorado has to offer.
